Explanation:
In this simulator, the user can generate single or dual frequency signals. In the event that a specific frequency is not bin-centered, leakage of energy to adjacent bins occurs; a result of processing finite-duration records. Windows are weighing functions applied to data to reduce the spectral leakage associated with finite observation intervals. There are several types of windows available in this simulator including: Hann (Hanning / Raised Cosine), Bartlett, 4-term Blackman-Harris, Flat-Top, and Hamming windows.
The spectral content is amplitude corrected with the appropriate window Amplitude Correction Factor.
Fmax is calculated based on FS, # of Lines based on # Samples. Thus, Resolution (LRF) is calculated from FS and # Samples.
Important Note: # Samples must be power of 2. The Fast Fourier Transform requires that the number of samples always be a power of 2: i.e. 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024 etc, resulting in # of Lines of: 25 50 100 200 400, respectively.
